Renowned scholar, leader of the International Khatm-e-Nabowat Movement and former MPA. Maulana Chinioti completed his Arabic Fazil and established a religious school named Jamia Arabia, Chiniot, and started teaching there. Later, he set up another alma matter, Idara Markazia Dawat Wal, which has imparted religious education to thousands of students. Maulana Chinioti was an important figure of the Pakistan National Alliance (PNA) in 1977. He played a key role in Tehrik-e-Nizam-e-Mustafa against the Bhutto government. He had been arrested several times during the movement. He was an active figure in the Khatm-e-Nabowat Movements of 1973 and 1984. He also founded the International Khatm-e-Nabowat Movement, which was meant to curb the anti-Islamic activities. He authored several books on Khatm-e-Nabowat as well. He challenged the last leader of Qadianis named Mirza Tahir Ahmed to a Mubahila, but the latter did not turn up. When the Mirza shifted his Jamaat head office to London, Maulana Chinioti chased him and went to London and challenged him to a Mubahila at Hyde Park, London. But, the Mirza did not come there. Maulana Chinioti was elected MPA three times in 1985, 1988 and 1997. He also remained chairman of Chiniot municipal committee. Rabwah, a town near Chiniot, headquarters of the Qadianis was renamed as Chenab Nagar as a result of Maulana Chinioti’s movement. Maulana Chinioti frequently visited Saudi Arabia as he had close terms with the King family of Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government has declared him a visa-free personality. Maulana Chinioti was also a visiting professor of the Jamia Tul Madina (Madina University).
